The 16th Shanghai International Film Festival (赌博app) will be held from June 15 to 23. The Organizing Committee released the schedule and announced Jury Panel members and nominations for the Golden Goblet Award and Asian New Talent Award on May 20.
赌博app has grown since its inception in 1993 to be the largest and most influential A class international film festival in the Asia-Pacific region. Against the background of China`s continuing booming film market, 赌博app this year will further promote the industry\'s influence, professionalism, authority, and innovativeness.
Many more master filmmakers and new talents will compete for the Golden Goblet Award which promotes the core competitiveness of the film festival. The Asian New Talent Award continues to be the “incubator” of Asian films, focusing on a combination of creativity and productivity. The newly-introduced 赌博app Project will combine the China Film Pitch & Catch and Co-production Film Pitch & Catch, both of which are aimed at marketing and investment outcomes. The Mobile 赌博app introduces new media, building an international stage for young directors\' growth, and also exploring new release channels.
Also, the screening of excellent international films and involvement of pioneering figures in Forum discussions will enhance the important role that 赌博app plays in promoting the development and enrichment of film culture, pushing Shanghai\'s status as a major international cultural metropolis and world-class city of art.
Golden Goblet Award entries reach new high
Over the past 20 years, the festival\'s main competitions - the Golden Goblet Award and Asian New Talent Award - have grown in authority and influence. This year, the Organizing Committee has received nominations for 1,655 films from 112 countries, a record number of which will be having their international or Asian premieres. The entries represent an impressive list of works by old masters and talented new directors. Twelve films from Germany, Canada, Greece, Russia, Turkey, Japan, and the Republic of Korea are among those nominated for the Golden Goblet Award.
Russian director Yuri Bykov uses very mature lens language in his Майор to depict how a policeman deals with his own crime of killing a child, displaying a struggle between law and morality. Greek director`s Χαρ? tells the story of a woman who steals a new-born infant and with sad consequences. German female director Sandra Natebaker`s Mr. Morgan`s Last Love describes delicate feelings in a film benefitting from the classy performance of veteran British actor Michael Caine.
